On the 21st of June, multiple burglars broke into Genesis Diamonds Louisville, KY store overnight. The burglars infiltrated the store and avoided being detected by the security system by climbing in through the roof. A minimal amount of merchandise was stolen and the local law enforcement reacted quick and professionally. After the suspects were apprehended, it was discovered that they were wanted for other similar burglaries around the country. Below is a statement and display of gratitude from Genesis Diamonds owner, Boaz Ramon.

Owner of Genesis Diamonds Grateful for Law Enforcement Response Times

I want to personally thank all of the law enforcement agencies involved in protecting my business.

The coordination and response time from the St. Matthews PD, Louisville Metro, Miami office of the FBI, TYCO Security Company and the Louisville Genesis Security team were terrific.

The St Matthews Police Department responded to the alarm from TYCO Security with great speed and appeared on the scene in minutes. All of the investigating officers were very professional and focused on solving this crime, and I appreciate all of their efforts.

I would like to offer a special thank you to Officer Jeff May and Sergeant Charlie Portman of the St Matthews Police Department. As well as show my gratitude and appreciation for the great cooperation from Detective Chris Fuelling of the Louisville Metro Police Department. Finally, I can't forget about the involvement of Special Agent Martinez of the Miami Office of the FBI who worked with amazing urgency and efficiency in bringing this to a conclusion, resulting in an arrest. Collectively, their efforts broke up a ring of criminals who were involved in multiple burglaries throughout the country.

To my fellow members of the jewelry community: please be aware that all stores run the risk of rooftop burglaries if motion detectors are not present in your ceilings. These individuals were in-and-out of our store in 3 minutes. If there were motion detectors in the ceilings, they would set off the alarms much sooner and never made it into the store. No one will ever enter my store this way again.

I suggest discussing precautionary safety measures with your employees. Be aware of anyone who doesn’t make eye contact, will not talk to you and who is overly attentive to where your motion detectors are located. It is my sincere hope that none of you experience this kind of event.

Respectfully,

Boaz Ramon

President
