The days of traditional cookie-cutter weddings are over. Every wedding is different, more grooms are involved in planning and every couple is making their big day all about them. The focus isn't just on the bride anymore; in fact the whole wedding party has their own unique style and personal touch they bring to the wedding day. Wedding trends come and go, but it's how you make the trend your own that keeps them fresh and off-beat. There are four must-do wedding fashion trends for 2014 and I think every couple needs to consider them!

Sleeves

1

Sleeves on wedding dresses have been around forever, but when Kate Middleton stepped out of her car on her wedding day with 3/4 sleeves the world took notice. Now with a revamped look sleeves are everywhere! You can even get lace boleros to add to your wedding dress and give it a more vintage feel, or just to give yourself a more unique style.

Color

2

Brides no longer have to wear white on their wedding day. Color is in and it’s beautiful! From pale pink to black every bride has the option to be non-traditional on her wedding day. We've seen celebrities like Cynthia Nixon wear green, Jessica Biel in pink and actress Amber Tamblyn wear yellow and that's only naming a few celebrities who went with color on their wedding day.

Just as pink is the new white for brides, grey is the new black for grooms. Lately, there has been an increase in tan or beige suits for summer weddings, and grey suits for fall or winter weddings. If you want your groom to stand out, put him in a black tux (with a bow tie – another must-do trend) and his groomsmen in grey. Making sure your groom has a say in what his best guys wear on your big day makes for a very stylish and personal touch.

Suspenders

4

Suspenders are the perfect way to add a funky and modern, yet subtle, twist to any groom’s outfit. Also a great option for groomsmen and ring bearers! Trust me, your men will look and feel great with ties or bow ties. Want to make sure the groom stands out? Add a vest and you’ve got the perfect outfit for your summer outdoor wedding.
